Classic and Aromatic Wildflower Honey: A Generous Gift from the Nature
Natural wildflower honey is derived from the pollen of diverse plants growing in the meadows and steppes of the Lithuania (Rokiskis) region. In this untouched environment, nature generously imbues everything with unique healing properties. Fresh air, crystal-clear water, and unique climatic conditions make this beekeeping product not just delicious but also an incredibly healthy natural sweetener.
Wildflower honey is a bee product in which pollen and nectar from various blooming plants are combined. Bees begin collecting honey in May from the entire area and continue to do so until mid-September, gathering nectar from dozens of different types of flowers.
The most common nectar sources for wildflower honey are thyme, sage, medicinal chamomile, acacia, and geranium. All of these plants contain natural disinfectant properties.
From season to season, this type of raw honey may differ in colour, texture, and taste. Even its fragrance varies because the characteristics of the flora depend on which plant’s nectar predominates in the final product.
Taste, Colour, and Aroma of Natural Wildflower Honey
The dominant nectar source determines the product’s colour and flavour profile. This unpasteurised natural wildflower honey can be light yellow, sparkling golden, delicate caramel, or bright orange. Deep amber and dark brown shades are equally common.
100% raw wildflower honey surprises with its abundance of flavour nuances. It is rich and sweet yet delicate and soft, without excessive bitterness. It leaves a long-lasting, pleasant aftertaste with distinct herbal and floral notes. Its vibrant floral-fruity aroma stimulates the imagination with a medley of sweet-spicy undertones, irresistibly inviting you to taste this amazing product.
Consistency of Raw Wildflower Honey
As this honey is untreated in any way, it remains unpasteurised and unprocessed, which consequently causes it to crystallise relatively quickly. Once granulated, it becomes dense and grainy, shifting to a lighter colour, ranging from sunny yellow to creamy brown, like coffee with milk. The crystallisation time depends on the collection site and nectar composition. The higher the fructose content, the quicker the crystals form (from one month to up to six months).

The composition of wildflower raw honey is always unique, as the simultaneous blooming of various plants depends on numerous factors. However, its main components include:

Recommended Usage

Raw Wildflower Honey 1.3 kg
Raw honey naturally undergoes crystallisation, gradually thickening and developing a grainy texture. This process varies among different honey types, showcasing unique crystalline patterns. Changes in colour and structure are indicators of the raw, unpasteurised, and unprocessed nature of the honey.
Another characteristic of raw and unprocessed honey is frosting, which appears as small white streaks or crescents spreading on the jar's shoulder. These white areas result from tiny air bubbles trapped between the honey and the jar's side. Both frosting and crystallisation are intrinsic features that do not compromise the taste or quality of the honey. Raw honey may exhibit differences in colour and taste from one batch to another, adapting to seasonal and climatic conditions and reflecting the diverse diets of the bees. Honey contains antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and amino acids, contributing to its beneficial properties.
The presence of hydrogen peroxide, acidic pH, and low moisture levels provide antibacterial and antiseptic qualities. Natural compounds derived from the diverse array of flowers in their composition contribute to mild antispasmodic effects, potentially calming the body and alleviating stress and tension. Also, honey is a natural solution for soothing coughs and sore throats. Its thick consistency helps ease throat discomfort, reduce irritation, and support healing the throat lining.
