Zabrus, also known as wet beeswax cappings, is a unique raw bee product collected during honey harvesting when the thin wax seals are removed from filled honeycombs. It consists primarily of natural beeswax, with small amounts of raw honey, pollen, and propolis naturally present, giving it its distinctive aroma and character straight from the hive.
 
Taste & Appearance
Unlike honeycomb, which contains a large amount of honey, Zabrus is predominantly beeswax. Its texture is firm yet slightly pliable, with a mild honey aroma and a naturally waxy character. Colour, texture, and composition may vary between batches depending on the season and floral sources.
 
How to Enjoy
Zabrus is traditionally enjoyed by chewing it slowly, allowing the honey and natural hive aromas to be released before the remaining wax is discarded.
